Wow, five hits on this blog after just one day.  Probably four of those hits came from me, but it doesn't matter.
As long as it registers that you got a hit, that is all that counts.
The more hits you have, the more you will get.

I know how people are on the computer.  A lot of times they will look at something on the web because it has 100,000 hits over something that has thirty-five.

I learned never to discount your teen-age audience.  They are the ones who have plenty of time on their hands with nothing to do.  They are the ones who give you a lot of hits.  Adults are often closed-off and busy.  Kids are open to new ideas and content.  They write some pretty stupid comments sometimes, but it is all part of the fun.

One of the things that I would sometimes find in writing is when the author is condescending towards the reader.  Never do that.  Just be a pal.  You will make more friends.

So, I think I have around twenty-six blogs now.  I went through a lot of them yesterday, and made sure that they were set up for monetization.  Yes, someday I want a paycheck.  When I do get some money from blogging, it will be hard-earned.  It takes a long time to get anywhere with blogging.  I don't get even 10% of the hits on my blogs that I get on youtube.  Blogging is its own beast.

I checked to see where my hits were coming from.  Most are from traditional desktop computers.  I was hoping to tap into portable devices, but that is less than 1% of my hits.  That could change, though, because people are on their phones....all....day.....long.

I like blogging.  I didn't at first.  I thought it was ridiculous.  I read several blogs, and I wasn't too impressed with the writing.  A lot of people would just 'blah blah blah' about nothing.  But I was eventually won over by the possibilities of blogging.  You can write and post videos.  That was pretty cool.
Videos are visual, but sometimes I need words to express my ideas.

There is nothing wrong with posting somebody's video and writing a critique about it.  Sometimes that can work better than a video response.

So what should you do with a blog?  Anything you want.  You gotta be careful not to swear too much if you want your blogs monetized.  Advertisers don't like a lot of swearing, and neither does Blogger.  My main blog, the most successful one so far, has 23,000 hits on it.  Not bad, but it is set to adult, so I can't have advertising on it.  Of course that is the one blog more people read.  I know what people want, and that blog is proof.  But I'll never get paid for it.

One of the appealing factors of a blog is that you can go in there anytime and edit and modify your material.  I really like this aspect.  That means I can wake up in a daze from a nap, start blogging my little heart out, and then edit and fix it when my head is more clear.  Editing and writing are two different things, and it is good to excel in both.

Man, I am out of it today, but I am not going to worry about it.  I can edit later.

Oh yeah, one thing Blogger doesn't like is a lot of spam.  They want original writing, and not a lot of repetition to fill up space.
If indeed you did pay attention in your English class once in a while, it will pay off.

People like when things make sense.  When you write a bunch of nonsense, people get turned off by it.

One time I found a successful blog, where the guy was writing these incredible articles with solid advice and philosophical musings.  He would spend eight hours on just one article to get every word right.
You will know if you are doing a good job on your blogs when other people post your links all on their own.
If people like your blogs, they will share it with others, and you will get rewarded with hits, which of course, eventually translates into real cash.

Basically, I work for Google, with all of my blogs and videos that I make on youtube.  Google is my boss.  The pay is awful, though.  I've earned about $78 on all of my blogs and videos so far.  This has taken me more than a few years.  But getting hits is accumulative.  My hits are accelerating, so eventually my pay rate will go up.  This is exciting for me, because I've put the time in to make it happen.  I didn't give up.  The more you do, the more you can do.

It is hard at first, writing some blogs, and making some videos.  No one reads or watches what you do, but you just keep going, and eventually they do.  It is a satisfying process, but just keep working hard, and don't give up.  Be patient.  It takes a long time for things to happen.

These days, having even one video go viral can translate into some big bucks.  It's worth it to keep trying.  It is like a lottery, and if your number comes up, you'll be rewarded.

Try to do some quality work once in a while, so at least you'll have something that you can be proud of.  I have found out that quantity works better than quality.  There have been times when I work really hard on a video, and nobody watches it, but the video I make filmed from a video game gets way more hits, and that one I made in two minutes.  But it is the quality stuff you do that keeps people coming back.

How to get subscribers?  Subscribe to a lot of people.  Maybe they will return the favor.

Be a friend on the web.  Don't expect people to be a friend to you, because they won't.  They are all a bunch of selfish little bastards.  Change things by reaching out to people.  It works.

Have a good time, because that is all you will get for a long time.
